Utilizing Pivot points (native to windows and more commonly refered to as tabs), less important sibling sections of the site could be given prominence without taking away from the main navigation. This feature allowed us to show off more areas of the site without confusing users on how to find their way back.
Dichotomic options were presented using toggles. The UI element was not only easily understandable but could fit in anywhere, beautifully.
The universal windows platform gave us an opportunity to display more information and actions in a way windows users were familiar without compromising their experience. The right hand panel was used to display supplmentary information as well as its actions in an unobtrusive way, empowering the user to do more.
